Are Google ads worth it?

You are advertising for a position in the search engine (Google). It is a complicated "bid" system and whoever wants to be in the best position has to pay the most for it, and in return, they get the most clicks. The one in the 1st position gets about 32% of all clicks. So, if "glass lamps" is searched for 24,000 times a month, almost 8,000 potential customers will come to your page if you are in the first place, and that is quite a lot. (With a conversion rate of 3%, this would mean 240 orders per month, with a profit margin of 10-15 euros, so you can earn 2400-3600 euros with this Google ad)

When you come across some terms you've never heard of before, we have written an article. By clicking on this link, we will refer you to the list of most common SEA terms.

Step 2: Ensure you enter Google Ads

Do you already have an account? Then you can log in at the top right. No, not yet? Then click "Get Started" at the top right, where you can create an account. In this blog, we explain how you can add a user to your Google Ads environment in minutes.

Step 3: Click on "New Campaign"

You will now be taken to a screen where you can enter the goal of the ad, and you can choose from eight different options.

There are six different types of campaigns: Search, Maximum performance, Display, Shopping, Video, and Discovery.

What you choose depends on the goal of your campaign - what do you want to achieve? What do you deliver (product, service, or neither)? If you want to advertise on SERP, you opt for Search. You then advertise on specific keywords to appear on the Search Engine Result Page.

Shopping Ads appear when searching for a product, for example, "soccer socks" here.

With "Display Ads," you can have ads displayed on all websites searched for on Google. These are the photo ads that appear on the sides, tops, and even in the middle of the page.

These are the most popular ways of Google Ads. In addition, you can also choose Video Ads (Youtube), "Discovery," and "Maximum Performance."

Step 5: Where should all the traffic go?

For this example, we will use SERP. When you click on this, you will be asked which link can be used. This is the link to the website you want to advertise.

Then you will be asked how much you want to spend on this ad and which bid method you want to use. This depends on the goal of the ad - if you want to sell products, you choose "Conversions." Your clicks will then be optimized for conversion. If you want to share information with website visitors and don't really want to sell anything, you choose "Clicks." Google will then try its best to get as many clicks as possible for your budget, and conversion-optimized clicks will be more expensive than "normal" clicks.

Step 6: Who can see the ad?

After giving the campaign a clear name, you can set where this ad is visible and which language is desired. You can choose to select a country or be more specific by selecting a city or village.

Step 7: Keywords

This is perhaps the most important part of the campaign - which keywords can you best use? This depends, of course, on your goal, and you need to do some research. What are people searching for, and when do you want to be found when people search for something? You need to find people who are looking for what you can give - are those sneakers? Then you need to think about different keywords such
